Call Patriot, you can get a nice set of bare 243 heads for about 400 a pair then buy valves and springs from Richard of West Coast Cylinder Head, you will have about 700 into some brand new heads that flow very well and bump your CR up to about 10:1 on the LQ4.

243 aka LS6 heads they came on the Z06 motors and a few others. Basically a 317 head with a smaller combustion chamber.

well i really only need one valve...the 243 head that i have had a bent valve that i need to replace. probably a dealership item for me.

how much power can you expect to gain by going with 243 heads on a ls1 or lq9?
