ya, it is in there. there was a few obstacles that i had to overcome, but i got through it. the 1st hard part was getting the rear caliper mounting brackets off. those rusted bolts were really on there. then i had a hard time getting the rotors off. they kept getting hung up on the parking break shoes. is there a trick to get those off any easier? after that everything went smooth, until i had to put the shims in. the carrier was easy to get out by using the technique you said. i used i big flathead screwdriver and used it as a fulcrum and had the tip of the screwdriver prying on the gear bolts. worked great everytime. thanks. well, i figured my bearrings weren't driven on all the way. so i took it to my chevy dealer on xmas eve and they pounded them in just a tad more. got home and it went in no problem. i reused the factory shims. so i never needed the adjustable ones, which i still have. took about 5 min or so i tap the shims in all the way with a punch and hammer. i filled it up with gear oil. by this time it was getting late so i decided to put the breaks and wheels on the next day (xmas). so overall, it took 3 days to do. but you got to figure, 2 of the days were on xmas and xmas eve, so i had family things to do. if i had the choice to do this a second time to future vehicles, i would. i saved hundreds of $$$. i think it probably would take me a day to do it next time. thanks for the help. i love the way it runs now. works good in the snow too. i don't have to keep putting it in 4wd all the time.

Yep, I think the same thing, knowing the probsd I faced last time I think it would be much easier.

Randy's is the shiznit. Their customer service people actually know what they are talking about which helps a bunch. I've bought a total of 4 lockers, 4 gear sets, and 2 axle shafts from them over the years working on my Jeep.
