I swapped over everything from my 4.8 to the LQ9 with no problems. Used my cable TB instead of the LQ9's dbw.

I actually had it done by David Heck out of Indy. The swap started at 8am and finished at around 3am. But we had some problems that were partly my fault for getting an engine with a poor pullout job. I had the PCM tuned by Wheatley. It fired up and runs great with no problems after the install.

If I had to give any advice about the swap is to bring an extra set of exhaust manifolds with screws and nuts. The stock nuts don't like to come off and you may have to grind off the screw. They are really cheap and it would have saved a lot of time if I had brought a pair.

My friend and me had the whole complete swap done in about 11 hours.. You can use everything off your 4.8 on the 6.0.. I bought a built tranny 4l60..

The trans will last as long as you keep your foot out of the floor board, but thats not gona happen. Best bet is before any of it you start saving for a new set of gears, good posi, a set of long tube headers, ohh ya a new trans..

When you get your 6.0 pullout just make sure it has the exhaust manifolds on it. Mine did but instead of removing the Y pipe from the exhaust manifold they just cut the pipe after the flange (becuase the nuts would not come loose).
