Hey, im sure most of yall are probably getting tired of me, but anyhow, i have an 03 sierra 1500 rcsb and it has a 4.8l in it now, i want to do a motor swap, it seems like everybody and their brother does the 6.0L swap, whats another good choice?

6.2 or a Ls1 5.7

not much honestly, all the ls1-ls7 are based on the LSX block which is basically whats in the trucks already, usually just better heads, aluminum block, better intake. Im no expert at this but alot of other guys on here can give you better advice but it should be a basic bolt in application

You would probably be very happy with a 6.0 swap, throw a nice cam/head combo on it, that would give you a good all around street truck. with decent mileage still.

I just got a LQ9 (6.0) in and got well over 20mpg on the highway

The 6.0 swap is the way to go and they can be had for nothing. The Ls2 is cools to but a lil more $$$ and a few things need to be changed up to work....

ok so if i go with a lq9 long block what kinda of things do i need to look for to make it work with my truck?

You will just need to use your acces on it, it will be a head up swap.. The tranny isn't going to like it. A shift kit, tranny cooler will help, but it will still say bye bye. Mine left with under 52k on it in less then 2 months, that was untuned, I didn't really beat on it at all>>
