If I had a strictly daily driver with a brand new 5.3 in it, I'd tune the truck and buy a KB/Trick front-mount kit and be done with it. Of course works better with supporting mods, but will work fine with the stock motor/converter, will drive the same out of boost, and will have the power on tap. That's pretty much guaranteed not to trash your motor, either.

What's this engine going into?

If it's going into something heavy, vs something light, my recommendations would be completely different.

Wouldn't have to wait too much longer if you're sitting on $3k. Probably have a few hundred in wiggle room on the price also.

Or you could keep a look out for a mp112. Not as efficient as a 1900, but will still make good power and goes for around $2500 used. Used p1sc procharger kits go for pretty cheap also.

I still haven't figured out where all of these extra cubes are coming from on these 5.3 builds?

First off I wouldn't have even of bought it, take the 3k you spent on it and the 3k you have to spend and build a 408 with a good set of heads.
