What Would It Take To Put a 422 in a Silverado?

Speed Pro used to be called Fel Pro also...
If I'm correct it was kind of the original...
correct me if I'm wrong! I am very pleased with the SpeedPro systems. The quality of the work is very good also.
I have not used the system yet one my vehicles. But have had a lot of time around them in a local shop and have began to pick up on them and some of the abilities of the program.
On the other hand I am not very familiar with the Accell version other than just hearing about it. The shop I just about live at is a distrib. for SpeedPro and hes shown to be a VERY good tuner also.

What about this?
[quote]I do agree that a lighter vehicle should theoretically accelerate faster with the same amount of power, however if you are looking to really increase the horsepower in a truck you are going to have traction problems. The rearend of a pickup just does not have any weight on it and it is very difficult to get traction without some major suspension modifications. That is why the C3 is the fastest truck that Lingenfelter has built to date. They had previous engine packages that made similar power but could not get that power to the ground. With the AWD it just hooks up right away and you go. Any time your wheels are spinning your are losing seconds. The absolute best setup would be if GM would install the AWD system in a regular cab with the 6.0L. That would be pretty impressive. I would think that you should be able to buy a 4WD truck and swap the 4WD transfer case for the AWD transfer case. That would make a pretty good project truck. Maybe even install the GM crate 502 with fuel injection. Now that would be fun.

I got this one of the other forums i go to...do yall think this will work? It would ROCK!!!!

Joseph thinks we should go ahead & finish the 6.0L project before we go tearing down a 02 Silverado for a 422. Thats probably some very sound thinking! I dont know how it would hook, surely someone has a fast silverado somewhere???

with 20" wheels? and 4.10's? may want to gear down to a 3.42 with an auto. remember, (and i know this is a little different because its a truck v. camaro) colonel went 10.70 on nittos and 3.42's. and a 4L80 may be a better option for longevity....along with about a 3800-4000 stall. hello low 11's.

Jason, this is just a thought but I think you should just put a crank and rods in your 6 litre...Keep your truck and continue working on it , instead of a 02 truck.. Just think,,, YOu have a 4"pistons already in your 6 litre and put a 4.25 inch crank with rods and you would have a bullet proof super stroker..YOu already have great heads for now and could just change those out now or later with ported , big valve heads and cam..YOu would also be able to spray the hell out of this iron block and with some suspension work possibly run a 10...Just some food for thought but that is what I would do...YOu would have a stronger and more reliable block with the stock 4" iron bore..It would be a damn fast but strong and a reliable motor...
I also think the MAC headers may fit on a truck with a custom exhaust..just cut the ball flanges off and weld the 3" rings on the end..Just like I did on the hawk...The macs sit at a 45 deg. angle downward and may just work..Not sure but well worth checking on...The moded macs will flow great with a custom 3" exhaust and H pipe...

Not to leave out the fact that the average person and even the above average person would not be able to tell that the motor is a 6.0L instead os a 5.3L. Only thing would be the coils that give it away. But not many people would notice that plus....they could always be added to a 5.3L...
There are some markings on the blocks that will give away the fact its a 6.0L, but they can also be removed and painted over....
