With a cam, Whipple, all bolt-ons including good headers, a 3200 stall converter and great traction you can probbaly do well against alot of them from a dead stop but you are gonna be hard pressed to take any M6 equip LS1s from a fast roll (freeway), even LT1s would be tough from a roll. The have superior gear selection on us auto guys so we have to seriously outpower em to keep up. My T/A is an auto and I have a hard time dealing with M6 cars from a fast roll unless I seriously outpower em, let alone a rolling brick like a truck
Also, the majority of LS1s that would be willing to race are usually not stock and trap 108-113 in the 1/4.

Yup, If you could get some auto's from a roll and some M6s at a dead stop you'll stand a good chance to embarass some people

Thank goodness you have a 4.8, with a 5.3, you'd have too many traction issues.
Just kidding. Skip the cam and add a small shot of nitrous. The whipple puts out so much hot air and the nitrous will offset that pretty well.

My old 5.3, without the juice, would run with a LT1 on the highway. The 5.3 had the cam I have now and exhaust, ported heads, K&N, and a stall. I believe strongly that my current setup would beat a stock LS1 on the highway.
I raced one before the blower and off the juice, a 2002 SS with exhaust. I hung with him until 110 and then it was all over. Revenge will be sweet.
