i just bought some taylor thundervolt wires from truckperformance.com, great wires. they're plenty thick at 10.4mm which put the stock wires to shame. my truck seemd to really like em' too, much more alive and responsive.

as for plugs, i asked around on here a few weeks back and the common reply was the NGK-TR55 plug.

if you are boosted or nitrous injected run tr6s...otherwise tr55s are fine

what makes you all recommend tr55s over ACdelco's or another factory plug?

Are the tr55s the same heat range as factory 5.3 plugs?

Is it worth replacing my 03's factory plugs? My truck only has 6700 miles BUT if it would help smooth out my trucks engine performance and spark then maybe I should put some new plugs in.

The platinums just seem to be crap. I've heard talk of the little tips coming off the electrodes and of course they don't conduct as well as the copper. I think the car guys say the same thing too.

The 55's are stock heat range and the 60's are slightly colder (harder to foul) to run with nos.

I changed mine the other day at 8000 miles just before I added the predator so I can't really tell as far as performance or idle. I can say it fires up a little quicker than before though so it definently wasen't a waste of money.

Just a heads up though, the back one on the passenger side is a mother to change. It's just right so that the ratchet won't fit on the socket, but an extension makes it too long.
