Well hell! In my DD i run mobil 1. But in racing, i step up to something with alot of zinc and easter. RP, Motul, Amsoil are some of the great oils out there.

German castrol in mine at the moment. Will put either Mobil 1 or go with castrol edge whenever I need a change.

Anyone know what you get if you just ask for synthetic at the dealership? I know in the past I've gotten synthetic that came from a Mobil 1 bottle, but with their own brand of GM Dexos is there any one supplier or is it a regional thing?

 

Currently running Rotella T6, but will be going back to PP or PU 5w-30 for the next change. My truck seems to run the "best" on PP or PU....she hates M1 FWIW.

 

I just got in the Amsoil program that gives me cheap overnight shipping and 20% off so I'll be rocking that in another 2k miles. Just got my Amsoil atf for my trans/stall install this weekend. They charged me $12 for ups overnight for 13 qts.

 

Amsoil everything as a good buddy is a dealer. Then again on my 05 I run the full 15000 miles ( filters rating) on engine oil changes on it too. I get analysis done from time to time when I remember. It still gets oil changes at least twice a year.

I don't buy the stuff to dump it out after less than what most conventionals are good for like so many people do.
