Longer the muffler, quieter they are. If you're looking at a 14" case compared to a 28" case, the 14" will be louder and have more in-cab drone. I'd go with the longest dual in dual out Magnaflow available. 2.5" in/out is a good diameter, and you only need one muffler with that setup.

If you're going with Magnaflows; 14"= pretty loud, 18" = fairly tame but has a pretty good tone, 24" = quiet but still has a little rumble (think a little louder than stock but rumbly). That's for the oval case mufflers; I have no idea about the round ones.

Id get the longer 20". just to keep it tame.. i had the 14" with no cats on mine and it got old..
With no cats i would get the longer one.

Now i have the 14" 6" round and also a 14" 4" round and it sounds great! Cant wait to tow a trailer to see what it does.

adding cats will take some sound out too, but deepen your tone, and eliminate some rasp.

Magnaflow is a great muffler for someone not wanting loud.

IMO, if you're going through all that work of converting to true duals, why not gain some power and torque out of it by simply scratching the stock manifolds idea and put some long tube headers in the mix. With all the work you're going to do, it woulden't be that much more to just go ahead and bolt up a set.
