Default What rear end is in my 00 GMC 1/2 ton 2wd?

is it the same center as a 97/98 Chevy 4X4? I have a buddy that has a lock right posi and i need to know if it will work. Anyone know?

Eventhough your buddies carrier is an 8.5 and yours is an 8.625, your buddies should fit fine in yours. You will different bearings though. If I am not mistaken, it was Flyer who posted the part # for those bearings.
