Good answer, Greg. Faze, it really does depend on what you want to accomplish and how far you're willing to go with it. When you get a higher rpm cam, then you're going to want a converter to make use of it. You'll have to have a good tune to make it work. You'll be changing other things out, such as springs with a higher lift cam. I've had great success dealing with Thunder Racing. My cam is the Thunder Racing 224, and I couldn't be any happier with it. You might also want to keep an eye on the LS1 for sale section. Alot of those guys buy cams, then decide to go larger and sell them cheap.

well my future plans are the following:

Aem brute force intake, air aid tb spacer, port polish tb, NGK TR55 IX spark plugs, msd 8.5 wires, headers, and elecrtic fans.... then tranny burns up i plan to get it rebuilt with the z-pak, kevlar bands, transgo shift kit, corvett servos, uhhh 5 gear planetier, etc....

ive already got a single 3'' in and dual 2.5'' out flowmaster 50s on, knocked out the screen on the massflow sensor, i had the vr stack but that was junk, when, i know the next thing on my list is the fans i wanna add first....that way with the intake clearence and etc issues

Ditch the tb spacer. The consensus is that it doesnt do anything. And I dont think the spark plugs and wires will do any thing for you performance wise, unless its time for a tune up and you actually need to replace them. But, intake, p&p tb, e-fans, and LT headers are good choices, some alot more expensive than others though.

yeah dont get the TB spacer. I had one with my AEM intake and it was making it slow as hell. I mean the thing was going from 0 to 15 in 3 seconds. It had some bad *** top end power with the intake though, but at that point I did not know if it was cause it had some bad as top end power or becuase I was going to damn slow it begin with.

I installed an '02 cam from a Z06 in my truck. I got if from e-bay for $85. Huge top end power increases. I also had to change the springs and used comp 918's.
