Default What gains with these mods?

What gains would I see if I raplace my shorties with longtubes and add a mild cam and a shift kit, what gains could I see, (need suggestions on cam, and needs to work well with or without tuning and can work with HPP3) Would it be a noticeable difference? Also do longtubes sound different than shorties? How much would a dealer charge to install a cam/springs and a shift kit?

i think the vette cam (or what ever everyone calls it) will pick you up about 20 to 30 horses. not sure what long tubes will help you get. maybe 15 over what you have now. i could be wrong. also, i think the vette/fbody cams won't require tuning and you can use your stock springs....

long tubes will help out. 15 ponies over shorties sounds right. if you have the money i would go to the 212-218 high lift or a 212 218 low lift. the low lift will work without to much tuning. i think once you do the cam the hpp3 tuning will not help- but mey hinder you.

I plan on using my HPPIII to raise the shift points and rev. limiter in my 6.0L. I am using a "version" of the 212/218 high lift. Its a custom grind 212/218 557/562 on a 114 centerline with 4 degrees advance ground in. Its supposed to really help out torque, which with the weight of my truck, is what I'm after. Other then that, I think the other uses of the HPPIII such as trans firmness, 93 tuning (timing bump), etc, can only help....I mean, how could it "hinder" your performance over not running it at all. If a cam makes power to 6500 or beyond, but your factory rev limiter only lets you rev to 5800, don't you think raising that number would help??? 02Denali, please explain?
