Default What gains should I expect?

I'm gonna be ordering the LT Pacesetters from Texas-speed next thursday and then I'm gonna run true duals off of it with an X-pipe and two flowmaster 40 originals. Should I go ahead and get some high flow cats or are the stock ones fine. After that I would need a re-tune from Nelson but I was just wondering what kinda gains I should expect from that. My fastest is a 16.48 at 85mph, and consistently about a 16.6. Saturday I will find out what I'm running with the new tune. I'm thinking around a 16.1 or 16.2. I know for sure I should be in the 15's with the LT's. Any opinions?

Hey, i love that exhaust combo and you will too! IMO no cats, but you will need a tune. If you lose the cats and get a tune prob. high 15's. Without tune and keeping cats prob. low 16's as you expected. Have you got any pcm mod now (like hypertech)? I don't know personally but have heard that descreening MAF without a tune might hurt more than it will help. I don't know that for sure though so don't hold me to it. Good luck!

With out a Cam & Headwork or even F/I the gains will be minamal with the 4.8. You would probably gain more with a stall or gears.

Okay, well I was gonna finish the exhaust and then order 3.73 Richmond gears with an Eaton differential. Would it be better if i did the gears first. Would my truck still run alright if I did that considering that I have it tuned for 3.42's?

I would do the gears 1st. you can have Neson send a retune for the 3.73s. I noticed alot more gain when I did the gears over the headers. Youre stock cats will be fine.

It looks like i'm going with the gears first then. Is installation pretty simple? Anyways my dad will be the one doing it but he doesn't know yet.

The install took a freind about 6 or 7 hrs with a lift. No the install is not simple youre better off paying some one to do it that know what there doing plus there are tools needed that the normal tool box doesnt have.

What do you think someone will charge me to install them? My dad is a mechanic and knows how to do it but are you saying that it will be better not to mess with and just pay somebody to do it. I might do that depending how much they charge and finding the right person to do it.
