Default what free mods for 5.3L?

i just bought an 05 chevy RCSB and its all stock for now except for dual exhaust with flows and turn downs, and i also had it dropped last week. now im gonna hit the track this friday to see what she can do. just wondering what i can do as far as free mods or for little to no $$$? once i hit the track im gonna remove the tailgate, drop the spare, headlight, and drop the tire pressure. can you remove swaybars to cut a better 60ft or any other tricks to make it a little faster? thanks in advance.

I wouldn't, way more chance of harm without being very worthwhile

An old racers trick is to bring ice packs with you and pack them on the intake manifold between runs. Don't know how well it works on a chevy truck, but every little bit helps right?

I'd really get rid of the Flowmasters....they really don't flow....get ya some SLP Loudmouths or some Glasspackes.....flow better...and give you better top revs

Does a TB make a noticable gain? Does anyone sell a kit for doing it or is it just a hose and clamp? how does it work?

buy a barbed hose connector from a hardware store (homedepot). disconnect the two lines that connect to the tb and connect the two lines to the barbed fitting. voila a tb bypass.

Cool

Short belt to lessen parasitic drag on the engine. Fold your mirrors in.
