What else could it be....

Well i have been battling my rough idle issue.... i think its the fuel pump..... the 6.0 has the exact same rough idle the 5.3 did and i just changed my fuel filter and swapped out 3 different sets of injectors......still has a rough idle.... i just want to cover all possible/ easier solutions first because i heard the fuel pump is a PITA. also i did change fuel rails with injectors.....
Thanks LES

How rough? Might be looking too simple, but I've had rough idle issues in both of my last 5.3's. I searched and searched for answers and turned out to be bad plug wires. On the first on, I guess one of the plug wires got burned up by the header, changed it out and worked perfect. On my other one, it was a slight rough idle, nothing was wrong with the wires per say, but one was a bit loose, I guess the contact just got too loose on it. Changed them out with new 9mm wires and the idle has improved greatly.
Again, this might sound like the simplest of fixes, and may not be the issue, but might at least be worth looking into.

i suppose..... i never thought of that.... the 6.0 also shares all the wiring..... the rough idle is very spontaneous.... but the misfire its self seems to always feel the same..... i will check into the wires..... i may just get new wires anyway.... the ones i got have some miles on them...... thanks L33
anyone have suggestions for plug wires?>?>????

Well, like I said, it may sound very unlikely, but it could be the answer. On my crew cab, it was running perfect and then got in it after work one day and the damn truck would hardly run. I had come originally to the conclusion that I had gotten ahold of bad gas as I had just filled up the day prior. I limped it home, at times not thinking that I would make it, though once I had it moving it ran fine. Ran some diagnostics on it. It never through any kind of codes at all. Just by accident I checked that the plugs were on tight and low and behold one was a bit loose. Luckily I had kept my originals and swapped it out and that was the answer. Similar issue with my current truck, but this time I knew exactly what it was. Worth a shot if nothing else.
I have always had good luck personally with the JBA PowerCables. I ran a set of MSD Superconductors in the crew and they didn't last a month.

my pump has about 130,000 on it now.... but has been present since i got the truck at 50k...... idk it kinda annoying it runs fine after you give her a little gas..... F**K it i dropped enough money into it might as well get a pump and new wires...... hell the truck has been taking money by the thousands as of late so a pump and wires should be a walk in the park

That's where that, "You have to pay to play" slogan comes in. Most of us here already know about this.

Definately replace the wires and fuel pump. Just curious, but you did replace the spark plugs right?
The only other items possible, could be a bad coil or two. You should check all of them. Maybe even a faulty MAF meter.
Let us know what you come up with.

I totally agree with everything from the emptying pockets straight through to the possible MAF. As mentioned, I'd start with the spark plug wires and possible fuel pump and take it from there.

TR 55s smoothed my idle out, but the truck did have 122K miles on original plugs (no longer platinums, now with .08" gap!). I have Magnacore spark plug wires, with the angled boot and would recommend them, great quality.
