i have around 95xxx miles on my 4.8 and im planning on putting a cam in it, i havnt decided on one yet but what all do i need to replace so that i dont blow something when i pick one and do it? or would i be better off switching to a 6.0 the only thing is im stationed in japan and when i get home i only have 2 weeks before i have to drive to pendelton so i cant afford to have the silverado down.

 

cam, springs and pushrods and a new balancer bolt

all the gaskets should be fine to reuse if you do not have any leaks now

 

Ok thanks I wanted to make sure I didn't skip anything over...I think it was on here I saw a thread about cam swap and it was pretty detailed but I can't find it anymore
