Default what the difference between v6 -v8

modeled serrias and silverados??

reason being ripping my ls1 out of my ta it only has 40,000 miles on it and im putting in my built 6.0 iron block..

im in the market for a truck/daly driver

i like newer body styled 1500 but my question is i can get v6 dirt cheep around are area and im going to have a spare ls1 motor just taking up space.

is there any differnce between the truck with the v6 in the engine bay compared to the v8???

id rather save a few thousand and buy a v6 and just throw the ls1 in it down the road!

thanks!

Other than a different harness and a few accesories (A/C, PS, alt, water pump etc..), pretty much the same engine bay. You will need a V8 pcm anyway. Are you talking new or used?

How about a good 4.8 instead of the V6, nobody would know the difference and everything would hook up the same. And oh by the way I have one I want $695 for.

The transmission will be different also, it may fit with a 4L80E flexplate, and you'd only be able to use 5 bellhousing bolts.

I don't if GM still does it or not, but the V6 transmissions used to not have as many clutches in the forward, and 3-4 clutch packs.

I don't think it would be worth the little money saved by getting the v6 truck. You will end up nickle and diming yourself to death, not to mention the added labor of getting everything else figured out. I'm not sure if the radiators are the same or not, but there are a bunch of little things that will drive you crazy trying to dig up. If you are asking for opinions, mine is forget the V6 truck. They aren't that much cheaper than the 4.8 or 5.3's really. Plus, the v6 trucks are usually LOW option trucks, meaning, no Power windows, no carpet, etc.

Misunderstanding on my part, thought you were taking the engine out of the T/A to use in something else and was wanting to stick a cheaper engine in the car. Went back and read your post a little slower.
