Default what cam? ls1 build..

what cam should i go with on my ls1?
mods are going to consist of ported 799s,milled very minimal just to resurface
nnbs intake, 92mm throttle body,
ls7 lifters,
double roller timing chain,
melling oil pump
etc
of course full bolt on,

3800-4200 converter,
havnt decided if 410s or 430 gears.

this is on my extended cab

ls1 is going to be brand new motor, getting it completley worked over..

any opinions? im really stumped on waht cam to go with lol, cant decide.

the only ones ive contemplated, is a 238/242 112lsa, or a ms3.

That's a big cam for a LS1. What about the Tick Performance SNS torqueMAX Stage 3? Better lobes than the MS3.

New for 2013: Tick Performance proudly presents our brand new Elite Series of Camshafts specifically for LS1 & LS6 Engines! Using the latest and greatest technology available, industry-renowned camshaft expert Martin Smallwood was able to mastermind a complete line of Camshafts that are designed to meet every goal from mild to wild. Our Elite Series of Camshafts are all manufactured by COMP Cams and feature a mixture of LXL, LSL and HUC lobes (with a few other tricks up our sleeve, as well.) Although we suggest measuring for piston-to-valve clearance during ANY camshaft install, every Elite Series Camshaft is designed to fit in a stock engine & stock heads with adequate clearance unless otherwise noted. These cams are designed to maximize power, reliability and valvetrain longevity.

Tick Performance "SNS" torqueMAX Stage 3 Camshaft for LS1 & LS6 Engines
Standard Lobes: 235/243 | .62x"/.62x" | LSA111+2
Milder Lobes: 234/242 | .61x"/.61x" | LSA111+2

Designed for: LS1, LS6, LQ4 and LQ9 Engines (325-364ci) with Cathedral Port Heads (as they're equipped with stock)
Basic Operating RPM Range: 2000-6700
Expected Horsepower Gains: 45-55RWHP over the stock camshaft in a well-optimized setup
Stall Converter Required: Yes, 3600-4000RPM
Rear Gear Upgrade Required: Suggested for maximum performance (4.10+ for manual transmissions, 3.73+ for automatics)
Works Well with Nitrous: Yes (shot size less than 200)
Will Pass Most Smog Emissions: No

"SNS" stands for Saturday Night Special, because this camshaft is going to turn every head at the weekend cruise-ins! The torque curve produced by the SNS torqueMAX Stage 3 is down-right insane and you’ll be blown away by the shape of the curve from this larger sized cam. It will pull cleanly to 6800-7000rpm if need be, but shifting at 6600-6700rpm is recommended. We strongly suggest the use of Brian Tooley Racing Valvesprings and hardened pushrods with this camshaft (sold separately.) Hundreds of hours were spent developing this camshaft to perform precisely the way we advertise, so as a result, changes to the LSA or any other specification of this camshaft are not available

this one?

yea it sounds intriguing...but the lift is kinda high...very similiar to the one i posted.

Dude that's still big. You have a extended cab pickup. Look at a 227/235 range. It will be more beneficial for you. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? If you chose one of the cams you mentioned, I would go with 4.88s minimum.

i'd be satisfied with a mid 12.

4.88s is too much, i can run a 15 in rim on some 28s, with either 430s or 456s and that will suffice..

power band of the cam i want it form the 3k-6500k range, so a 4400 stall should do as well...
