This def seems to be a big argument. I seem to think that if you had a true CAI, going all the way from your fender to your intake, the air MIGHT be affected by the tube's temp.

My concern is general under hood temps more than anything. Heat kills alot of vehicles, especially the Lx engines. The less pieces that hold heat, the better.

I like the K&N FIPK too, although im probably going to build a new airbox from scratch to get a better isolation from the engine compartment.

The selection of CAI's for trucks flat out sucks, they're all too much alike. It'd be great if someone made a carbon fiber tube like Halltec does for Vettes to insulate against heat.

Another vote for Outlaw Power. The best filter on the market due to it's design using an inversion cone to steamline the airflow, and all the couplers are designed as "veloscity stacks" where they are contoured and moulded instead of just a straight rubber coupling. Noticed a BIG sotp gain in the mid and high rpm range, even my friend with an '05 F-150 5.4L w/ K&N system was suprised how hard I pulled on him on the big end.
