The radiator is going on 9 years old now and you live in Arizona. I'd look into the '05 fans and the 35" radiator swap instead of the stock 28" radiator with LS1 fans. Just a suggestion.

I second the 42-43lb injectors as well. Injectors are like Goldy Locks and the Three Bears. You don't want injectors that are so big they're flooding the cylinders with too much fuel at idle, but at the same time you don't want to run out of fuel with over 90% duty cycle at WOT. You want just the right size.

The 99-00 6.0L had a longer crank (I think). It had something to do with mating up to the 4l60.

The 99-00 6.0 do have a longer crank and won't work on a 4l60e, l80e yes. Also they have iron head. I would look for a 01 up 6.0, save alot of headaches. Also find you some 42-44lb injectors..

Grrrr I cant win. I already have the block, and was planning on using the 60 for the winter then a 80 swap in the spring. Looks like I will be doing it now. Any specific year 4l80 to get? And any links to swap info? The one on ls1 truck makes it look overly complicated, is it really that bad? Thanks

Leave absolutely everything you have the same. Just disassemble the short block and swap in your 5.3L crankshaft. After that you can bolt everything back up and do the motor swap without problems. If you are careful and prevent the pistons from falling out, tip the motor upside down and swap the crankshaft without even removing the pistons. Unbolt all the rod caps, spin the crank 360 degrees, remove the main caps then take the crank out. Put the 5.3L crankshaft into the motor (or pick up a used LS1/5.3L/6.0L crank off the forums) and then bolt everything back up. No need to mess with new pistons, rings, different block or weird flex plates. Leave the 4L60E in there as well.

And to answer one of your original questions, look at hirdlej's 6.0L swap thread going on. He just swapped out the stock 6.0 injectors because they were borderline not enough. You may get by with your combo, but it's unlikely.

Too late, I bought a 4l80e yesterday out of a 02. I figure the 4l60 will always be a weak link so ill bite the bullet and swap it now...Well see how that goes. Now Im working on the part list for the swap.
