no one has used a vararam? they claim that theirs will outperform anyone elses (which I guess every company does) but I have been the most convinced by their advertising. I think I'm going to try it.....anyone have any feedback?

I like my AEM intake i was really tempted by the Volant. Trucks illustrated tested both, the volant on a 2000 silverado 4x4 (they didnt say what size v8) and tested the aem on a 2004 yukon 4.8L. The aem made 16.3hp 12.3lb.-tq and the volant made 14.3hp 12.8lb.-tq. Those numbers are pretty close so they are about the same.

How the hell did you get that **** for free?? lol I just bought mine brand new for 150 shipped and i got a good deal. They are normally 230 or so. Nice looking intake. I had to trim my intake tube on the end that connects to the mass air cause it was a little long after connecting the mass air and everything together. It wouldnt quite fit on the throttle body so i trimmed about 1/2" off of the end of the tune. I made sure it was a nice clean even cut and cleaned up the edges. The intake looks damn good IMO. I like the clear plexy glass cover on the box so you can see that filter in there. Looks different than the rest. I love mine. I originally wanted the volant but i paid less than half the price and it looks just as good IMO..

Silver99, you will like the S&B!
