last I heard the "drop in kit" was north of $20k. The Chapman Super Truck website mentions it

I talked to a guy that droped a 8.1 inplace of a 6.0 he said it whent right in even ran one the 6.0 cumputer he used ls1 edit program to tune it.

on a 2500HD or bigger (including the 1500HD) it would swap right in, on the 2500LD and down it would be a MAJOR swap because like was said the frames are different and it would take ALOT of massaging to get that monster in

the other nice thing about the ss is that the suspension is a torsion bar setup vs coils in the front. As for the 20k price tag that is not all that bad considering that the crate motor from gm is 10k. We got the new one in yesterday & it was nice. It came with the new intake, valve covers, plugs, wires, coils, oil pan, oil filter, the only thing missing was the injectors which wwas dissipointing because I had intentions of getting the new ones!

Chapman can do the swap for you.... which is probably AS&M. All you gotta do is pay 15g's more than regular price and you can have it in a new 1500 Silverado or Sierra.
