Angry Went to track for 1st time with turbo setup..

Well we went to good old New England dragway and put a few runs under the turbo 4.8's belt. They all sucked!!!!!! My best time was 13.2 @111mph. My best MPH was 114.01mph. My best 60" was 2.34 seconds Last year I was pulling 1.6x-1.70's. I did win every race, even spaked a lightning, but with 5 runs averaging from 13.23-13.46 I think that they all sucked.
I can not build boost on the line. I push the breaks in all the way and then give it gas and all the truck does is roll forward. I talked to Don and we believe the problem is I need new rear brakes. The pads are gone and they wont hold the truck still.
The truck feels much stronger at the top end than it dod last year. Once I hit boost the thing moves. A guy clocked me and said that it took me 1.78 seconds till I actually started to show sights of power. I need to get that fixed. Tuesday Don will put the new Strange Engineering driveshaft in, the driveshaft loop, wideband, new read brake pads and a new tune. If that doesnt get me out of the hole looks like a little "spray" could be in my future

114 mph should be good for mid to high 11's! Good start!

That top end looks real good... hope to hear some times after the pads & driveshaft issues are taken care of. Go 4.8 Go!

I was there and your truck looks good. I was behind you and I thought to myself "that thing takes forever to spool".
If you get that thing to come out good it will run in the 11s for sure.
Have you ever tried the E brake trick at the line? I used to do it with the turbo Buicks back in the day and it works like crazy.

The lightning that you killed was my friend Mark and it was his first time ever at the track. After he raced you he told me that monday we need to get whatever it takes to beat that chevy becuase he made me look like a fool.LOL

Ya i did the ebrake trick. I did that and held my regular break and it still moved forward. I am ordering pads tomorow and we will see if that fixes the problem. I want to see 11.49 flash on the board. thats all i want.

I think you need more stall. What do you have now. With as short on breath as a 4.8 is and as big of a turbo as you have, you got to get the rpm up there quicker to get it boosting. Mine is the same way, and i only have the basic T60-1.

Did you try the puting it in netrual and rev it to max out the vacuum while holding the brakes trick. That let Parish get a bunch more goost on the line, before it would over power the brakes.

But I still think your going to need a lot of stall to get that thing spooled.
