I'm looking to replace my 4.8 with a 6.0. I was leaning towards an lq9 from a Silverado ss or escapade but now that I saw many turbo kits at affordable prices on eBay I am leaning towards the lq4 since I hear that since the compression on an lq9 is higher and it wouldn't take a supercharger or turbo. Would I be able to install a turbo kit on an lq4 without doing internals? Any suggestions? I want to go fast at an affordable price. I know I'll still be spending a pretty penny but I don't want to go all out. Where do I start. I plan on getting a 4L80E as well. Where do I start? I want to do long tubes and a cam swap as well.

 

Does someone atleast know if you can turbo charge an lq9 so I know if to just get the lq9. I want to get the lq9 since it comes with 345hp right off the bat and it is around the same price as the lq4. I plan on swapping cams and adding long tubes to begin with.
