Well after 3 years my efan harness bit the dust....
Well for 3 years my efan harness has not skipped a beat until today :(... So I am going to redo it... I ordered some 50amp relays and 50amp self resetting circuit breakers... All the main wiring will be done in 8 gauge wire... All that should keep the 07+ efans happy, those suckers pull alot of juice...

Are the 07+'s different than the 05's? They pull more CFM's?
|
So would the correct fix be to get the harness off the 05+ donor truck???
Im gonna do the efan on the hoe soon and i def dont want to have the harness burn up.. |

Well i thought that, but when i bought my fans, i found the 05-06 have different blades than the 07+'s... The 07's have the same blade count the 05-06 have 2 different blades... I am not sure if the motors are the same or not... 07+ (both have 7 blades) http://www.go-part.com/images/parts/...-55043-000.jpg 05-06 (1 fan has 7 blades, 1 fan has 5 blades) http://ebay.schramauto.com/MISC/674-00923-01.jpg |
Going from a 2006 to a 2010, I noticed that the fans are notably louder. I attribute it to the extra blades.
|
ya, you can definitely hear the fans when they are on high
|
Hmm, interesting. I'm going to guess GM did that for a reason, and with the extra blades, it seems like it would pull more cfm's.
|
well look at it this way... everyday i sit in my truck with it running and ac on high during my lunch break, usually for 30-45 straight... my ac will get to 40* in 100*+ weather, just sitting there idling... My truck never ever gets over 203*, that is the upper limit i have set for the efans... but like i said they pull some serious juice when they kick on...

Do you have the 105 or 145 amp alternator?
I want to get the 34" radiator and 07 efans. Do you have your efans set to both come on high simultaneously when the AC compressor comes on, or do you do 1 at a time? I figured the latter would help subdue the shock to the electrical system when the fans came on high. With my LS1 fans, the 145 amp alt didn't really seem to help at all. I'm wondering what, if any, wiring upgrades the newer trucks have to help increase flow. |

AC on. So, I'd think if failure is gonna happen, summer is when it has a greatre likelihood of occurring.. |
