I've never heard of that, it's not really a fix since the actual leaking part is an internal seal in the pump by the bearing. Did you use an OEM pump? I know that they're pricey so I understand why you'd try to avoid replacing the pump, but that's the only real way to fix it.

never heard of that, but i went thru two water pumps within 30 thousand miles, but both the pumps that started leaking at the weep hole were autozone specials so i picked up a OEM pump and havent had a problem since then (45k) on the oem unit

That weep is is there for a reason, it's telling you the internal seal of the pump IS BAD. Do not ghetto fab the pump up by injecting silicone in there. REPLACE THE PUMP!!!!!! The cooling system will also poop out your silicone plug when it gets up to temp as well. The little dibble of silicone you put in there will not hold up to 200 degrees of water at 15psi.
