Water Wetter and Dexcool
#1
I did a search and really couldn't find what I was looking for. Does water wetter really work in out trucks? What's the best way to flush the old stuff out? Thanks

I wouldn't even bother with water wetter, dexcool is no 100,000 mile coolant, joke, no coolant is. Where I am now we have a machine we can exchange the coolant with. At a previous shop we would drain the radiator with the petcock, close it (i think) and remove one heater core line and put a garden hose into the male heater core connection that coolant then clear water would come out of the heater hose, then put the garden hose into the heater hose and the heater core would dump out water. Then you drain the water and fill up with coolant. Coolant service is no joke, if the system isn't bleed you could could get an air pocket cause overheating. The easiest way is to drain the radiator and refill the coolant every 30k/45k or so. If you are going to do this often go to matcotools and buy a spill free funnel. It is the tool for refilling coolant.

I threw some in my truck and my wifes grand am. I didn't notice any difference in the temps but I mainly wanted it to help fight corrosion. I would also use distilled or purified water in there when your ready to fill it up because using city water will cause more corrosion due to hard water scale and all the minerals, chlorine, flouride, etc. in it.
