Default Water pump Q's

will Z06 water pump fit in LQ4 engine? I'm pretty sure it will, but my Q's how much fab does it needs?

I mentioned at other thread that I going to add e fan and pulleys. but I have about 45,000miles on my truck now. new tranny, heads and zo6 cam less then 10,000 miles. with no prob, but getting faster

Would he have problems with the accessory spacing? IIRC the car accessories are about 1/2" closer to the block than the truck accessories.

main reason is that I'll eventually go with Z06 intake manifolds and I read in other thread that said is will be problem becaust truck manifolds sit about 3inches higher than truck manifolds.

I am doing this same conversion this spring. It will work, but is not a bolt on.

First, like was said above the Corvette water pump pulley is closer to the block than the one you have now. Green Thunder was able to press the pulley off and press on one from the truck water pump.

On the Corvette pump, only two of the holes for the tensioner are drilled. A boss for the third is already cast in, but needs to be drilled and tapped for a bolt. You can't go very deep though or else you will drill into the water pasage.

You will need to either buy or fabricate an idler pulley relocation bracket. Speartech used to make one, but I think they stopped. It may be possible to find one used. I have a template of one that Kano made for his LS6 intake swap.

Last you need a longer belt. Kano is running a 100" belt with the stock crank pulley. He said it is a little too tight, maybe an extra 1/2" would be better. Not sure how long a belt would be needed for an underdrive pulley, I plan on measuring my old stock belt and subtracting that from 100 1/2" and then adding that to my existing belt with the underdrive pulleys.

Where in Jersey are you from?

i just took the 10mm bolts out of the back of pump and used a shop press it all apart..then i took the pully and put it on my lath and turned the inside of it so it wouldnt rub the housing..if its not turned down the belt will ride right on the edge of teh pully which still wouldnt hurt anything
