What size cam are you using? Just curious I'm going to run Raylar biggest cam. I've been waiting on Ray to get my heads and intake to me. Its getting old in a hurry especially when I need this truck for the snow.

I'm running a COMP cam shaft of 218/224 510/.510 114. Hows the Raylar cams, I bought the COMP because it was on sale and they're generally cheaper. So are you changing up to the BP-106 from Raylar?, which intake did you go with, did you change the whole intake manifold?
...8.1HD... The 4180E trans swap went smooth, not a hard swap, i'd get either a yank torque converter with it. What kind of mileage are you guys getting with your 8.1?

Yea that the one I'm going to run, it was ground by crane I don't have the came card handy but I do remember it has .610/.621 114 and it power range is from 3000-6600rpm. I'm using Raylar's intake manifold and I'm going to plume it with a fogger system.

thats pretty good mileage your getting, the 4.56 will definately change that. ...tie rod... thats sounding like a pretty good setup, is your truck running the raylar pistons yet? Do you have a custom PCM tune? does your truck drink a bout a quart of oil every 4000 miles?

I will be running Raylar pistons but my truck is down right now do to the stock pistons. I've been waiting for Raylar to get there stroker cranks done but the manufacture kept pushing back the production date. I have a LS1Edit and I will tune it myself. I've had it for a wile, the program showed up 2 days after a piston gave up. I must of had a oddball mine never used oil but one time, that was the first 3000miles after I did the cam swap then it stopped and never used oil again.

chevhot :

Just add cam, stock one blows. get a ls1edit or hptuners.

Or get raylar top end kit. for about ($5600+).

either will be good for more horsepower just that the bottom idea will require Allison trans upgrade, depending on how you drive.
