You'll want the marines... the 31's won't last you lone in a 6.0 with a mid 220's cam and 243 heads.

This thing should make good power!

another question can 243 heads make 400 whp stock, with a 224 cam, I'm pretty sure i'm doing work because I'm pulling the heads anyway but i was thinking of trying them with just a fresh valve job but i don't want to put this thing together and be disapointed, i thought the 317 heads flow as good as the 243 but with larger combustion chamber but now i'm not so sure what are you guys making with stock 243 heads

I think you come very very close to 400 hp with stock 243s.Depending on the dyno!
My buddy has a lq4 with 317s and a tr224 in a 4x4 he made 365 at FMS
A few LS1 with full bolt-ons and a tr224 have made 400 hp before

Also the 243s flow roughly 20 cfm more on intake and roughly 10 cfm more on exhaust.
Plus the bump in compression

didn't know they flow better but good point on the compression bump so that with the 4 bolt tb intake bigger tb, different cam and bigger maff will get me close but i think working on them might be a better choice more now less in the long run those gaskets are expensive better to do it once

With those heads you will make real good power. I've seen dyno's that show 50 HP from their port job over stock 243's with no other changes. You're gonna have a burner on your hands for sure!!!

Yea that will be a fun truck. Shouldn't have a problem meeting your goals. All it takes are some good heads and it looks like you will have some.
