Default VortecMax Cam

2006 gmc CrewCab 4wd vmax with 4.10s and 33" mtz's...Im really looking hard at a Lunati voodoo cam.. .217/.223 .549/.549 lift, 113lsa, 109Cl

what do you guys think?

Im looking for more mid-higher rpm power, but not so much where it completely kills the bottom end..this truck is a dd, i do tow stuff with it, but not very often..mostly atvs & sxs, and my 87 k10 mud truck when i have too..i asked about this cam on another forum and got some pretty good feedback, along with other reviews ive read..i will be adding a 3200 circled converter, 1 & 3/4" ARH LT headers, tune, and a 40k trans cooler..

I think it'll be a great choice. You'll definitely get more out of it up top, but it's small enough with that converter you will feel more power top to bottom. You will only notice a small decrease in tip in power on the highway with the converter locked, but you will still have plenty on tap.

What's the minimum converter you'd run with a 222/226 ecsb 4x4 ?

without knowing other specs I ran that cam... I would run a 3000 in a 6.0 and more in a smaller engine.

I would like to have it ground on a 112 lsa for a little more choppy sound, but im not sure how that will affect the powerband??

Also 1&3/4" or 1&7/8" headers??

You could do either. The 1 7/8" dotn kill bottom end as much as people think... where you will feel it is on the highway when tipping into the throttle and the converter is locked. Wide open its not enough to notice.

The 112 LSA generally compared to a 114 will make it more peaky. the torque curve will drop off a tiny bit earlier, and it wont make as much power off idle.

Ill probably stick to the 113 lsa then..i forgot to mention im adding the 8.1 marine injectors as well..ive been told and read that with most cam swaps in these motors the stock injectors will be maxed out....and the thought of adding a 100 shot of giggle gas has crossed my mind..wont be spraying often..just when a mustang or something is feeling frisky...im sure ill need the 1&7/8 headers with the nitrous...
