Default vortec max looking for headers.

hi im new to this forum and to the truck scene. i have a gmc vortec max crew cab 4x4 that i picked up last November. i installed a speed by spectre cold air intake and a flow master dumped b4 the axel. im looking for advice on a good set of headers and possibly a good cat back. i do live in CA not sure if the headers have to be smog legal or anything like that. any help is appreciated and any other advice that u guys may have as well. glad to join the site.

Welcome to pt.net!

I bought mine off of amazon, they're pacesetters ceramic coated and were the cheapest I found I can't remember what I paid for them but it was pretty cheap for long tues.

I live in indiana so I couldn't tell ya anything about the smog bs. I'm sure someone will chime in and help ya out tho.

I've been hearing people have caught great deals on amazon. I really have to check them out. And thanks for the welcome. I love my truck first car/truck I've bought from a dealer and couldn't be happier. I originally went there for a 5.3, then saw this one. Was only on the lot for a couple days. And I couldn't resist, didn't even know they made a vortec max. I've taken it to the track and ran 15.5 with the CAI only.

Be prepared to beat the **** outta the Chinese headers if you are 4wd. If i where to do it again i'd go with a quality American set... just my 0.02

I've hear people complain about the fitment of the pacesetter and mine fit perfect, they're not even close to hitting anything.

in my RCSB 4.8 2004, only thing I had to do was bring the dip stick out and up a bit and the sterring shaft bolt/nut combo would hit on a left turn, little grinding and rattle can fixed that.

Yea I've heard people having problems with pace setters then people not having problems with pace setters. I just looked on cal speed and saw they had pacesetters for the 5.3 and 6.0. Not priced to bad, just not sure if it will fit cause I have a 4x4. But some banging isn't to bad. I had to bang a little bit on my z28 for my mid length pacesetters to clear the steering shaft lol. I think I might get the pacesetters and have them powder coated.
