Default vortec 383

any body spend 4,ooo with the replacement for the 5.7. I have 164 000 miles on mine and its starting to knock hard. I want to know if its worth it. Thanks. also a newbie posting here. I got to get some pictures up.

gmpp released a new 383 crate motor that is a direct drop-in replacement for the 5.7's in the 96-99 GM trucks/suvs...

thanks onebadsss, its a 98 2 door tahoe, lowered,22inch SS wheels, and I want to keep it, but that means getting a new engine for it. and i was wondering if any body had any experience with the gm crate 383. Its rated at around 350hp? and 410 tq.

The bottom end in that engine is the same used on the HT383. I can assure you comfortably that it will hold up to 700HP.
