Default Volant or Vararam????

Alright, I'm looking for an intake system I dont want to spend too much (less that $250). I have an 01 Seirra ecsb 5.3. I am in the process of installing LS1 fans, waiting for my coated Thorely Tri-Y's to come in so I can redo the exhaust w/a magnaflow setup, maybe some pulleys, and custom tune. WHich system is better?? Where is the best place to buy. I am also open to suggestions for other brands I just see these two mentioned the most. THANKS!!!!

Jump on this deal...I'm ordering mine tomorrow. Order a black one, as I've heard the smoke & clear ones can crack.

I kind of need to replace the whole intake, box and all b/c my dad needs it for a tahoe we're putting together for my mom. So instead of buying another box and stuff we're gonna use the one off my truck and I'm gonna get an aftermarket one b/c I was going to get one eventually anyway.

Well, if you have to replace the whole air box then go with a K&N FIPK. Great price at autozone and looks/sounds good too.

I personally don't like the volants because I always thought they were the same setup as stock except for a smoother air tube. And are overpriced. And dont look any better than stock. Just my opinion.

I am sure someone can sell you a stock airbox setup from here cheap, then you can get that great deal on the UPD.

Go with the Volant. K&N FIPK uses a heat shield that seals against the hood. Volant uses a compeltely sealed box that draws air from the inner fender and has the option of the scoop that pulls it from the air dam. Very nice set up.
