It should make for violent throttle response everywhere and stop pulling about 6000RPM's which is perfect for a street/towing setup. I'd do a cam/springs and catback install and get it professionally tuned. You should easily be at 360RWHP and 380RWTQ. Get great gas mileage and be able to spin the tires. Don't go past a 218 duration or under a 114 LSA if you want a smooth running, non-lopey responsive engine.
sorry dude, theres no way he will get 360hp to the wheels through an 80e and 12 bolt with that small of a cam and no supporting mods like headers

i really do not want to tune it past getting TQ management removed or at least reduced.
Well it needs to be tuned for the cam.

Word. That cam would have to be pretty wild to gain 114hp+ at the crank. lol

tuning is not an issue now. i had the trans rebuilt and some light tune work done to help it live w/ the loads i'm pulling.
i need large TQ gains in the 2000-2500 range - where the RPM's are when the converter is locked at 70-80 mph.

i'm just not ready to install a cam w/out some numbers to justify the effort.

i think thats going to be hard to gain alot of tq down that low. this guy did a cam in his 5.3 thats almost the same as the one your looking at and got some awesome results but nothing down that low.

"At the peaks it gained 44 rwhp and 19 rwtq but that doesn't really tell the story. In the higher RPM areas it gained almost 60 rwhp and 55 rwtq. Now that's something you can really feel"

I too would be interested in gains with this cam. i have shorty's, CAI, Magnaflow and a tune, pushing 276HP and 330TQ to the tires... 35" tires, 4.10's 80E tranny, pulls in third with Coverter locked...

What might be the difference between this cam and the low lift version from comp?

personally I like comp's lobe designes better, I think they produce better numbers than some of the other vendors. comp's low lift 212/218 is a proven performer time and time again with no loss down low and picking up around 3k(in a 5.3)! This would produce a good torque gain in a 6.0

I put a cam similar to a 206/212 - .515/.522 in Sheephead's 05 ecsb 4x4 6.0L w 3.42's and he loved it! For some reason we swapped it out for a 212/218 - .522/.529 and he can't wait to take it out.

The bottom end tq and gas mileage was way better with the small cam. It towed like mad even with the highway gears. The 212/218 only tows good over 80mph.

They only other mod he has is a crapmaster cat back.

thats what i was thinking too. something like a 206/212 if he wants increased tq that low in the powerband. i'd love to see some dyno graphs.
