Uh oh, isn't this the passenger combo that has induced both problems?
J/K, glad it was not something really bad! Get her running again and post up some slips!

Yeah, don't let any of your friends ride in it for awhile. I'm glad to see that it checked out ok. Sounds very strange though. Did they weld on the heads at all to repair them? If so, it could be a little flash flying around in there.

Happy hunting. Another salute to the fallen 4.8

No when I blew the 4.8 CRAZYCUTER4.8 was with me and this last deal 99SilveradSS was with me and yeah Im not letting anyone ride with me!
Honestly one way or the other it could be called a freak accident. Yuk! Since everyhting was disassembled(intake,heads,block,etc..) and the motor being removed and then stabbed it ended up costing me $800.

So wait a second, I'm a little confused here. It was still making that noise when you dropped it off?

Uh yeah! Of course it was making the noise when I dropped it off! You heard it that was piston hitting heads! YYYUUUUKKKK! I got it back yesterday and all is fine now! I still havent stomped on it really. Ive done some small burnouts(it doesnt take much at all to do so) and some 3/4 throttles but to be honest with you with the luck Ive had Im scared shitless! Ill admit it. Ill get over it Im sure this weekend when some ******* tries to step to my truck! oh and when I probably go to the track. I havent decieded if Im gonna spray this weekend or not!

While writing this one of my co-workers just came up to me and informed me that he dropped a file cabinet into my truck! Im talking about one of those big ones. It it right under the tailight into the body and left a lemon size dent into the bed. I cant catch a break. If I didnt love my truck and hadnt sunk so much money into it I would get rid of it! I just got it back yesterday and now its goingback in Monday. At least the company is going to pay for it! Its gonna cost like $600+ Will someone pray for my truck!

I still got no response on my compression ratio question! With my current setup I have 11-2 compression ratio. I run nothing but 93 octane and wanted to know if this was a problem.

If you get any detonation problems, you could drop in a longer duration cam; that will help. the f-body guys might be a better source for the CR question because i suspect the aluminum block will affect the useable pump gas CR.
