valve seals???

whats involved with changing out the valve seals????

It's like changing springs with a few more steps. The valve springs must be removed to access the valve seals. Check out LS1howto.com, I think there's a write-up there.

depending on what heads you have some have 2 peice seals(stem+seat) the other kind are one peice and easier, there is a seperate part humber for the intake and exhaust vavle kits both contain 8 seals per pack. if you want to part numbers i can post them here tommorow just let me know. all u need to change them is remover the rockers and springs and use a pair of pliers to pull them off, really easy.

pull them off with pliers and tap the new ones on with a deep socket, just in case, part no. 12457652 and 12533586 - black is intake, brown exhaust

Also have a magnet handy cause those damn valve locks have a bad habit of falling down in there where the main head bolts are and are difficult to get out.

yeah thanks, I feel I have one leaking..
I am getting oil on the number 7 spark plug...
plus I think I have a valve tapping on me as well..( or sticking ???)
going to check it out this weekend, and try and get it fixed.

Theya re the right ones thats the same pn for the heads on my truck and its an 01. Are you going to the GTG on the 20th?
