Default upgrade engine

I have 2000 chevy silverado 4.3 v6 2wd LS and my engine starts to fail so I want to make the change for the same 4.3 v6 but from a newer model for example from a truck 2005 to 2008 will I have any problem please help.

Do not quote me here but I want to say a 2008 won't work being that they used a different controller starting in 2007.5 for the trucks. It's likely to have different sensors and crank trigger.

A 2005 long block should swap over being from the same era. Might be some minor changes between the two but stuff should still bolt up the same.

Perfect time to ditch the baby motor and swap in a V8
