The only thing you may have to worry about is if the throttle body spacer creates a clearance issue with the intake piping and the engine fan shroud, but I dont think this would be a problem (depending on the thickness of the spacer).

Just my 3 cents. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">if you have a paperweight attatched to yur TB...i mean ugh a TB spacer the UPD will not fit. you'll have to cut the fan shroud. mine is wedged b/n the shroud and the TB now and i don't have a TB spacer.

The UPD will NOT fit with a TB spacer. I had to take my TB spacer off when I installed the UPD intake.

I tried trimming the fan shroud and it was just too tight a fit. I can't remember now but, the intake tube may have touched the tip of the clutch fan. If it didn't it was very close. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Hmmm...paperweight. That's a good way to describe my TB spacer now Crazy. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I've got some flexalite electric fans and I'm sure both the UPD and spacer would fit with them but, it seems 6.0L radiators are on a national backorder. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

I'll buy from whoever can get the cheapest price (either here or FullSizeChevy.com). <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Check it out! The first group purchase FullSizeChevy.com had the UPD rep gave some real good deals. This was the old Group Purchase they had.

for 10+ orders $179.00 for black (again add $20 for other finishes).

If you already have the K&N filter take off $20.00

So, if you already had a K&N, you could get a black one for $159.00!!!

Or a Smoke for $199.00 (provided we had a minimum of 10 orders)</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">

Hmmm, seems to be some interest in a GP around here.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Seriously, we are going to have an end of the year GP and of course we will be including the members of LS1tech. The dates and prices have yet to be announced, but will post them as soon as we know. Thanks for all of the interest and support, the more people we can get in on this the better...

Hey YUKONTURTLE that 1/4 inch sounds about right. I think mine was a little tighter though, maybe I didn't have the UPD slid on far enough or something. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

If I could find a 6.0L radiator to mount my flexalite 282 fans on I would be set. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I guess I'll have to check a few bone yards out.

I guess it came with the larger radiator??? The Flex-a-lite 282 bolted right up with the stock holes. John</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I guess there are different clearance tolerances. I had the Poweraid and the UPD on together and there was around a 1/4" clearance of the fan blade. But since I have the Flexalite 282 it is moot. The fans free up so much space not to mention the colder AC <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> ! So I guess I can say I still use that paperweight <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> .

Off the subject, but has anyone used the AMSOIL air filter? Doesn't look like the K&N filters too well. I took off the UPD to wipe down the inside of the TB and noticed a lot of black soot. Maybe this is from the oil used in the K&N filter? Any other better filters out there?

Huh....I'll have to go check my radiator then. I was under the impression the 282's wouldn't fit on the 5.3L radiator. That would be great if they did. Thanks

For anyone looking into buying a UPD intake, it is a sweet setup. Just follow the instructions when installing it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
