Default Two really stupid problems!

Anyone else have these problems? I have a 2003 Silverado and when I hit the lock/unlock button the switch that goes over the red on the lock indicator keeps comming out of the door. Every time I lock or unlock the truck it keeps popping out and you can see the lock rod! It will not stay in place!!! Now I have to glue it in. Brand new truck and I already have to glue it to keep it together!

Next problem, the dam seat back keeps popping every time I excellerate or brake! It is a spring in the seat and not the fraim popping! Any fix or do I need a new seat? It is very annoying and the dealer does not seem to want to give me a new seat. I'll have to get pissed next time I bring it in which will be this week! It has been in the shop for many things already from the body controll module, bad raido, bad ball joints and other things! What a piece of crap this truck is turnning out to be! Now these two really stupid things that I have to waste more time at the dealer! Ok I'm done ranting...oh the truck was built on a monday by the way!

driver's side lock is the same on mine. This happened only after I took off the door panel, so I guess it is my bad and it is just really hard to get it in the sweet spot - especially on a Monday
Good Luck at the dealer man

Did you ever get it to stay in? Did you have to glue it?

No, I still just push it back in every time I leave my truck. It has become routine and I don't even think about it anymore.
But...on a brand new truck, they need to fix that problem for you.

mine did the same thing when i took the door apart. couldnt get the lock to stay in as good as it did from the factory. look at the door cover where the lock goes, youll notice the cover is made out of a foam type structure that probably was damaged somehow. im thinking if you take a thin piece of sheet metal and form it to the opening on top and bottom. that should give the teeth on the plastic part something to grab onto. might look alittle jerry-rigged but i bet you could clean it up and fix your problem. let me know if this works or not. just trying to give a hand.

I just might try that if the dealer can't fix it right! I bet some JB Weld would do the trick also! Thanks for the input!

Try another dealer! I have found that if one dealer bawks at something another may not.

The dealer said that they can heat up the clips on the plastic door lock switch housing and "bend" it out more so it will grip better. Thay have done this before with success so we shall see when I bring it in next week.

Ok, the dealer said they will heat up the plastic on the lock switch and bend the lock tabs out more so it can grip the inside of the door better. Sounds like it will work after I looked at it. They also ordered me a new seat back to get rid of the popping. I hope the upholstri(sp?) looks as good as factory...I just hope that darn popping is gone for good!
