Default Turbo quesitons and Twin Turbos for all!!!!!

I was wondering what everyone thinks would be better to go with. I have the option to have a completly custom made turbo with intercooler, any size turbo, powdercoated intake pipes for a good deal. But there is something about the sts kit that i like. Plus its proven. So what are the pros if any of having a front mount turbo kit vrs the sts. Would either prouduce more power then the other at the same boost psi's? Any imput is apreciated. BTW this guy builds turbos and basically anything else for Mike Murlo. He told me he can build this kit with anything you want and do it for any truck. He also told me he could make a twin turbo setup just as easily. I have seen some of his work and he does a good job. I will post his details but anyone who wants him to make you a twin turbo he can do it. So if anyone is interested in this contact me and i will get you the information you need to get twin turbos on your truck.

Most of the big-power Toyota Supra guys have all switched to a big single turbo to make serious power. Following that, I don't see much reason for a twin turbo. This is the same for most of the twin-turbo cars that have been out over the last 10 years.

As far as advantages of the STS vs. your Custom setup:
The "experts" claim the STS kit does not have any more lag than any other turbo setup. One of the claims was "it has less lag than any turbo I've driven". Now, that could be because a big V8 has torque where most small 4-bangers have zero torque which equates to the feeling of bad lag.

For the ease, I'd go with the STS kit(s). But if you want to have some fun having a custom setup made, I'd go that route. Just make sure you know what you're getting into (time and $$-wise) before the project starts. I say go for the custom and keep us posted on how it's going!

Then there's us GN guys who have used two turbos to make 1700+ HP from a 6cyl. In all reality you can turbo anything. I've actually seen a working turbo on a lawn mower engine in a go kart. Turbos aren't rocket science. It's all about A/F ratio, timing, and the cam. The right tune and parts combo will get you along ways. A small well tuned kit will perform and drive alot better than a big turbo kit with a poor tune.

Rich.
