Default Truck "surging" bad 25-50mph, please help.

Hey guys, my truck has a bad surge from 25-50 mph. It has done it for a long time, but since I put the 6.0 in, it seems to be getting worse. It will surge up 100-200 rpm in about 1 second intervals when I'm driving at these speeds, and it's really embarrasing when people think I'm racking my pipes at them. It's also going to get me a ticket if I don't get it fixed. I'm thinking it must have something to do with the converter (Yank 3000.) The converter locks up at 45 but it still does it up to about 50. It only stops doing it if I put it in 2nd or get over 50. It also seems to do it faster when the truck isn't fully warmed up. So how do I fix this. Hopefully there is something in the tuning I can tweak to make this stop. Thanks for your time. Also Illnali if you see this please Pm me.

Hey man, if you have a minute could you explain what that is, where it is, and what causes it to break? Thanks.

Had a similar problem after I had my TCI SF3000 installed, so give this a try. Go to www.autobarn.com and look in the transmission lube section for a product called, Instant Shudder Fixx, it runs $5.99 a tube. Just pour it in where you would add transmission fluid, and the shudder goes away soon as you drive it. The lock up clutch is applied when the trans makes its shift and then released, this may be why you feel it at lower speeds too. This product worked for me.

TCC solenoied is the Torque Converter Clutch solenoied. It is basically an electromagnet that locks the torque converter at 1:1 drive. The winding gets weak with time and wont hold, so your TCC solenoied starts bumping on and off causing a surge at highway speeds or a near stall at idle. It's in the transmission valve housing.
