Default Truck idles high?

Hey guys, haven't been on much in a while. Good news to report though. My truck now has 350 cubic inches of LS1 power .

Anyways it's got a TR220 cam in it. I've got LS1 edit for tunning but it doesn't seem to respond when I turn the idle down and shifts early in first gear, although I've got the shift points set higher. Any ideas?

You may have to adjust some of your idle airflow settings. What year? Is it DBW or cable throttle?

...and it's actually 346 cubic inches of LS1 power

Also check all your spark plug wires...yeah I know it sounds stupid but do it. I had a spark plug wire on the #2 coil pack come loose and drove me up the f#@kin' wall for 4 days w/ a high idle and shifting like it was stuck in tow haul and my bro. comes over and pushes on the spark plug wire closest to the coil pack and he says it snapped in and voila...no more problems...

idle airflow speed in the tune... or you may need to add more fuel at startup to lower the idle...

how high of an idle are you speaking of?

When I had the old LS1 & TR220 in my truck, my idle was set at 650rpms. Like others have said, what is yours at?

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Yeah I know it isn't exactly 350 cubic inches, but it is refered to as a 350.

Yeah high to me is around 900. I've got the idle set at arount 650, but it won't respond to that. Also, instead of reving 1st gear out to 6000, it shifts early at 4500

if you are cable, check the simple thing...has the set screw got out of position? Idle high since the install? The I'd definitely check the cable setup. dirt track asks a good question as well.

Post your WOT shift speeds and rpms to compare.

Come on guys enough with the actual cubic inch of an LS1 does 4 cubic inches make a real difference (4 cubic inches = 65.5 mL = 65.5 cc), I don't think so, that is about the same size as one LS1 combustion chamber. Hell bore it .30 over and call it a 350, or put 2 weedeaters in the bed and call it a 350.

And if you still want to bitch, then let me just say you must have something else that is small too. This has been posted over and over and over but you guys keep on about a 5.7 is 346 c.i. who cares.

By the way good job on the install, lets see some pics and track times.
