Default truck dies under load or wot

i need a little help here guys. my other truck is a 96 5.0 vortec and all of a sudden it started dieing when i accelerated. it either does it if it sits and idles for a few mins or if i moderately accelerate. it does fine first thing in the morning for about 2 minutes and then blahhh. it acts like it is bogging down or sufficating. it also lets off little backfires when it does it, i changed the fuel pump thinking it was it and there is no differance

Check your plug wires. I had a an '85 Monte Carlo SS that used to burn up the #7 plug wire every 30k miles and cause the problem you are describing.

It may also be a vacuum leak. Check your hoses.
