I still have the 4" pulley on. I have a 3.4", but the one time I put it on.. the belt slipped like crazy. Did you have to put on a different belt, when you went to the 3.6? What kind of boost does it show now?

I just know that my tranny will break as soon as I launch if I get a converter. Everything that I buy, I want to be able to swap to my next truck. I think that there is enough of a weight differece between this truck and an ss that I would probably want a different converter anyway. I think that that PYE3400 is probably the way I will go. Parish seems to like his.
If you're planning on a turbo setup, and want to use the same converter, then definately get a PYE3400. The SS3800 wouldn't be a good match with a turbo. The PYE3400 won't perform as good with the ATI though, because it's alot tighter than the SS3800. If you got the new FLP level 5, you could swap it into your SS. Maybe just have to change the tailshaft housing.

Black,
Did you have to change belts when you went with the smaller pulley? What is the part number for the belt?

I got a 3.6" from Reichard racing. They have slots cut into them to keep the belt from slipping. I put on a Gatorback belt that was 1" shorter .

I get almost no belt slip.

4" pulley was 8psi, 3.6" pulley is 11 psi.

Goodyear Gatorback #4061105
Thats for the 3.6" pulley

If you buy a new pulley, definately get a Reichard racing! My old 4" pulley slipped more than this 3.6"(comparing belt dust evidence)

4061105 is a 110.5" belt. for that pulley I'd do a 110" belt probably #4061100. Don't quote me on that part # though.
