Default Trouble with the 5.3?

For the past week now everytime I start my truck when it's cold or has been sitting for a few hours it idles for about 10 seconds and then slowly choke's itself out until it shuts off. Then, once I restart it I have to give it gas to get it to idle and it'll finally idle but not very good. Then, I put it in drive and give it throttle it starts spitting, sputtering and shaking pretty bad like it's not running on all cylinders, getting to much fuel or not enough fuel at all. But once I drive it for a little while it seems to be fine. I have no idea what it could be and why it's doing this. But either way it doesn't sound good or run like it's suppost to. Seems a little under powered. Any help would be appreciated.

Intake leak, fuel pressure regulator, maf, etc. Is it stock, what year is it, tried anything yet?

Check for a vacuum leak, and check your fuel pressure.

Have you cleaned your MAF lately? I think I'd look there and for intake leaks.

I haven't had a chance to check the MAF but that could be it as well. I've been busy with school work so haven't had much of a chance. I wouldn't think it would be my intake gaskets because I've never touched my intake or heads other than installing my valve springs and push rods. All I know is that it sounds like **** when it idles, it doesn't want to idle, and the acceleration stinks. It just skips, spits and sputters. I'm think it's a fuel problem or electrical. My check engine light is on but it goes off and on from time to time due my rear O2 not being installed.
