Default which trany

truck is a 2001 1500 2wd ec sb, 5.3

going on it will be a radix at 8psi, headers and catback, custome tune

I'm taking a guess here but 285hp stock plus lets say about 50ish with the headers, cat back, and tune thats 335 now times 1.5 because 8psi is like adding another half atmosphere (1 atmosphere is 14.7psi) so thats about 500hp at the crank. Asuming a low 20% loss through the drivetrain thats about 390ish rwhp

What options do I have for my trany? I'm betting it will take a dump with that much power. Could I get away with a shift kit and vette servo's or do I need to get a built one? If so, who do you reccomend considering I'm on a tight budget. I hear about Chuck at FLP a lot on this site, any others that are a bit cheaper. I don't expect any track use and with stock tires I'm betting I'd break traction before I'd abuse the tranny too much.

Your tranny should be fine. I had the same setup with a little more mods. You motor would probably break before your tranny running 8 psi.

Talking

you will have to either get a built 65e or do a swap.
