Default Transmission Temp Gauge

Is there a sensor in the tranny for that value? Also I am wondering if I were to get a gauge cluster from a Denali like the one here and hook it up without anything else, would it work?

This is for an 02 GMC Yukon XL. TIA

Just put the cluster in. Thats all you need. The sender is already in the tranny. eBay would be your best bet for the clusters. But some sites that sell the clusters offer milage transfers for a pretty hefty fee.

That is a good deal on the cluster I have seen them for twice as much. Does the computer need to be recaliberated for the 120 mph speedo?

Nope it will work. Just as long as the truck will jump to 120!

What does that mean the new cluster won't just list the trucks existing mileage?>?

nope, the mileage and engine hours are in the cluster.

speed-o-tach in Concord, Ca. did mine (I'm in La.). They just ask for a recent shop ticket showing odometer and mileage (go get a tire rotation or something).
