I took my truck to a transmission shop and found out that my shift points are sliding! He also told me that there was no shifting pressure when the truck would shift. So I went home and took my tune out and the transmission was still sliding. However I bought the extended warrenty and the dealership picked my truck up last night. Could the shift points be sliding because the MAF sensor is defaced?

Sliding is the way that the transmission place described it. When the transmission shifts it will rev up around 200-300 rpms in the middle of the shift. Then the transmission will engage and it will go through the shift. Very sloppy feeling!

 

Slipping?

 

Maybe, all i know is that something doen't feel right. Could it be because I defaced the MAF?

 

Descreened

 

Others may disagree, but i say no way! Mine has been descreened for almost 2 years, along with everything else in my sig. No slipping here. Try adding some Lucas Trans additive, but check with the dealership to be sure It wont void anything.

 

I was told by a mechanic today that in 4L60E transmissions there is a plastic piston that controllds the amount of preasure during the shift, and that they break pretty easy. That might be the culprit of the sloppy shift!

 

So is the plastic piston broke or cracked and bleeding off line pressure?

 

The only plastic part in the trans that I know of is the piston in the 2nd servo assembly ( i think i said that right) . Joe and I (well joe) went thru the tranny and we installed the pinless servo, there is no way that thing will break and it has two seals , a teflon one and rubber seal.

Maybe your tranny is just on the way out. How much TM did you have taken out and did you mess with the tranny settings in the pcm? I'm assuming you have edit.
